How To Care For Your Woodslice

Wood is a living material and is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from it’s environment. It may move or flex over time leading to slight shrinkage, cracks, holes and bends in the wood and/or bark peel.

The best place to display your wood slice is in a cool, dry area of your home, that is away from direct sunlight. It is advised to avoid places where they will be exposed to varying temperatures such as above radiators, in bathrooms/kitchens and/or outside.

I choose only the best quality wood slices for your portraits but I unfortunately cannot control changes in the wood that occur naturally. I recommend that you consider choosing the resin coated option for your portrait, as this will preserve the integrity of the wood and therefore, the longevity of the product.
